Scheldezicht is a 23-story residential tower which forms part of the redevelopment of the southern part of the city of Antwerp, Belgium.
The tower is designed by C.F. Møller and BRUT and executed by Interbuild. Sky Climber was selected to provide the window cleaning system for this 90m high tower with a BMU roof car. The BMU is a machine on double tracks with a 5m jib. The challenge was to design a machine that was fully counterweighted and able to stay under the maximum height restriction as the tower is in the approach lane for the airport of Antwerp.
In order to use the machine for replacing glass panels, the BMU is equipped with a 550kg auxiliary winch.
