An ongoing maintenance project in the Kentucky Lock and Dam system required a multi-level suspended access plan and Sky Climber was able to help. Sky Climber provided a work cage, a 2-meter platform, and two separate rigging configurations to allow crews access to the interior surface of a lock for steel and concrete work.
The multi-level work surface called for a unusual solution to reach the complete work area. The 1.5-meter SSU Work Cage could be suspended from a single Rolling Roof Rig on the uppermost level. Adding an 8-foot beam tube and corner adapter allowed for a 7+ foot outreach. Adding a second Rolling Roof Rig on a lower level allowed for the use of a separate 2-meter Sky Stage Ultra (SSU) to be used for additional work.
