This tower project is for the new Headquarters of the Diamond Bank, a major bank in Nigeria.  Sky Climber was selected to provide the window cleaning system for this 80 m high tower with a BMU roof car and monorails.

The Building Maintenance Unit, or BMU, is a trackless machine with a 7-meter jib.  The challenge was to design a machine that was fully counter-weighted and able to fit in the narrow space provided.  There is a limitation in height as the machine is located under an overhang. In addition there is a parapet so that the cradle needs to squeeze through between the ceiling and the top of the parapet.

The BMU fully complies with European Norm EN1808 and is therefore fitted with a restraint system and a computerized stop system to pause the cradle at the selected height.
